Safeguarding - Children's Week
This week is Children’s Week (18-26 October) a national event promoting the rights of children and young people and highlighting that children are to be seen, heard, respected and celebrated in every community. This year’s theme is ‘Everyone should know about children’s rights’. Children’s Week celebrates the right of every child to enjoy their childhood. It is also a time to recognise and value children’s talents, skills and contributions.
All of us have a role to play in safeguarding children and Children’s Week is a timely reminder to share that Safeguarding Leads have been appointed in all state government schools to help ensure all children and young people in Tasmania are known, safe, well and learning.
